October 2016 was the first month in history in which the average of Internet access on mobile devices has surpassed desktop. Total pageviews via smartphones and tablets accounted for 51.3%, against 48.7% of desktops.
According to StatCounter desktop remains representing the largest volume of hits in more mature markets, but the difference is narrowing down every month that goes by.
